Locked out is a stressful 20 minutes. Here is exactly what happens once you ring. The engineer asks three quick questions: what door is it (UPVC, wooden, composite), what state is the lock in, and where in Suffolk or North Essex are you. From those answers we quote a fixed price and an ETA, usually 25 to 30 minutes.
On arrival the engineer will try non-destructive entry first. For most domestic locks that means picking, raking, or bypassing the cylinder without any damage to the door or the lock. We open roughly 95 percent of lockouts this way. If drilling becomes the only option, we will pause, explain why, and quote any cylinder replacement before continuing. There are no surprise charges added on the doorstep.
