Terms of Service
Last updated: 25 April 2026
These terms govern the locksmith services provided by Kasper the Locksmith. By engaging us to perform work at your property, you agree to the terms below. They are written to be plain English. If anything is unclear, ask us before booking.
1. Quotes and pricing
We provide a fixed-price quote on the phone before we leave for your property. The quoted price is what you pay unless the job materially changes once we are on site (for example, you ask for additional locks fitted, or the lock turns out to be a different model than described). In that case we will pause work, agree the revised price with you, and only continue once you confirm.
We do not charge a separate call-out fee. We do not charge a premium for out-of-hours, weekend, or bank holiday work.
2. Payment
Payment is due on completion of the job. We accept card, bank transfer, or cash. A VAT receipt is provided on request. For commercial accounts, we offer 14-day invoice terms by prior agreement.
3. Warranty
All workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months from the date of work. If a fault arises that is attributable to our work or to a part we supplied, we will return and rectify it at no charge during this period. Damage caused by misuse, forced entry, or work performed by another party after our visit is not covered.
Manufacturer warranties on locks and parts are passed through and apply alongside our workmanship warranty.
4. Non-destructive entry
For emergency lockouts we use non-destructive entry techniques wherever possible. If, in the engineer's judgement, the lock cannot be opened non-destructively, we will discuss the options with you (drilling and replacement, alternative entry, etc.) and only proceed with your consent.
5. Cancellation
You can cancel a booking at any time before the engineer is dispatched at no charge. If we are already in transit when you cancel, a £25 contribution to fuel and time is payable. If we have arrived on site, the full quoted price is due.
6. Identification
For security reasons, when we work on a property we may ask the householder for proof of address or proof of ownership / tenancy. We reserve the right to decline a job if we have reasonable grounds to suspect we are being asked to gain entry to a property the caller is not entitled to enter.
7. Liability
We carry £2 million public liability insurance. Liability for direct loss caused by our negligence is limited to the cover provided by that policy. We are not liable for consequential or indirect loss, including loss of earnings, except where required by law.
8. Complaints
If you are unhappy with the service, contact us first at info@kasperthelocksmith.co.uk. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 2 working days and resolve them within 14 days.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of the English courts.
